I paint my memories.
The memories are tracks of my self-portrait and life. Living in America was not easy as a non-native speaker, like fingers in a mitten. The mittens and hands in my paintings are icons of me.
Mittens are called “Bung-Auh-Lee-Jang-Gaub” in Korean which translates to “Mute Glove.” Fingers in the mitten are uncertain in showing true shapes and eloquent movements of each finger.
